After months, and months, of wondering and waiting and speculating on what the pole dancing posts on Moriah Plath’s Instagram were about, we finally get some context. As it turns out, the posts were made shortly after Micah’s 21st birthday party and it looks to have been Olivia’s idea.

Moriah was into ballroom dancing before this, a “romantic” exercise that allowed her to “embrace her femininity” as she put it, but after seeing a few girls work the pole at Micah’s party, Olivia wanted to see what all the fuss was about so she and Moriah signed up for the pole dancing classes.

Of course, it seems that Moriah did a lot better than Olivia but Moriah is more experienced with dancing. She has taken a lot of ballet and ballroom and just knows how to move. Olivia is not experienced with dancing, and it shows.

She said that while she was on the pole, she felt like a “cartoon cow” and she really wasn’t all that graceful, but dancing is one of those abilities that you’re either born with a natural affinity for, or you’re born with two left feet and while lessons help, sometimes people are just more naturally attuned to it than others. We’re not hating on Olivia, we’re cringing with her.

Moriah said that this was her way of getting some control back after being in a “controlling relationship”. While she didn’t mention ex boyfriend Max Kallschmidt by name, she said that for the longest time she had felt that she had to be perfect for other people and what she has come to realize is that she only has to be perfect for herself… wise words from someone so young.

We’re glad if she was going to take something away from her time with Max, that it was that lesson, instead of trying to make it work with him and trying to be his idea of what she should be. You can only try and fit someone else’s mold for so long until you it breaks, and it looks like the mold has completely shattered with Moriah. Stay tuned!!!
