Poor Moriah Plath. Apparently, when ex-boyfriend Max Kallschmidt cheated on her he truly blindsided her, and then released the details in a now deleted video on youtube! Apparently Max had a youtube channel at one point but the videos are all gone now, who knew?
Moriah was the one that saw it, and Moriah, of course she broke down because who wants their personal details out on the internet like that? Max uploaded that without any regard to how she would feel, obviously, or maybe thinking she would never find it. Moriah did not give the salacious details that Max did in his video, but she did say that Max said in the video that relationship-wise she and Max were “in a rut”.

…But yet, Max is giving her a promise ring, acting super jealous, and already inserting himself like a big brother to the younger Plaths. She had no idea that he felt that their relationship was “in a rut” because instead of telling her that he decided to go-a-cheatin’ after “a hard week at work” as if that excused his actions.
He also, even after they broke up, made it a point to continue having a relationship with her younger siblings which is super creepy and some might argue manipulative because Max knew that Moriah and her family were at odds, so how is it that he’s still talking to them when they’re broken up? He has no reason to talk to her younger siblings.
Ethan hates him now, both Ethan and Olivia hate him, and we’ve all seen what happens with Ethan is angry, the long winter begins. Now, Moriah says after the release of the video, she’s ready to tell her family what actually went down between her and Max and that’s going to let Max actually know what the Plaths true colors are.
Like it or not, Moriah’s still their daughter and they’re not going to suddenly side with Max over Moriah. The only one who might still have some trouble with that would be Lydia because she was determined to still talk to Max after he and Moriah broke up, but after finding out what he did? She may turn too. We’ll see.
As for Max, he sat down with producers and had a very scripted, very PC response to the entire thing. Perhaps he should go into a political career… or maybe not, we have too many of his types in office. Stay tuned!
