The fallout from Oprah Winfrey’s interview with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry continues to take casualties, with the most recent being the outspoken and polarizing Pier Morgan.
This morning he was called out by his morning show- Good Morning Britain’s weatherman, Alex Beresford and instead of entering into a healthy debate of conflicting opinions, Morgan stormed off set and quit the show.
Piers has been a longtime critic of Meghan Markle and on Monday said he was angry and sickened by the Oprah interview broadcast on CBS.

He called it a “Two hour trash-a-thon of our Royal Family, of the monarchy, of everything the Queen has worked so hard for, and it’s all being done as Prince Phillip lies in hospital. They trash everybody they basically make out the entire Royal Family are a bunch of white supremacists.”
Morgan’s GMB co-host, Susanna Reid admonished Morgan’s claim, saying “They didn’t use that phrase”, Morgan barely let her get the words out before spewing more hate all over the Sussexes.
Today the tables turned when GMB’s weatherman, Beresford confronted Morgan calling him out for his continual and quite cruel criticism of the Duchess of Sussex.
Beresford continued to say that he understood Morgan and Markle had a personal relationship, but that Markle had cut the loud-mouthed host off. He also reminded Morgan that Markle had every right to do so.
Beresford asked, “Has she said anything about you since she cut you off? I don’t think she has, yet you continue to trash her.”
Beresford apparently hit a nerve as Morgan then stood and stormed off the set. Beresford asked Morgan to stay and speak about Beresford’s allegations, but Morgan wouldn’t have it. After he’d left the set Beresford described what had just happened as “absolutely diabolical behavior.”
He continued to say that Morgan “spouts off on a regular basis and we all have to listen.” He also called Morgan’s 30 minute rant on Monday about the Sussexes and their interview “hard to watch.”
A petition to fire Morgan from GMB over his comments about Markle had amassed more than 88,000 signatures before a statement from ITV, the channel that broadcasts GMB read, “Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave Good Morning Britain. ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add.”
Morgan did have fans defending him by saying he’s a “royalist through and through”.
If that’s the case, why is he being so disrespectful to the grandson of his beloved Queen? Beresford’s sentiments said it best- Morgan can dish it out but can’t handle anyone questioning his very loud opinion.
By the look on co-host, Reid’s face, as she quickly sent the show to an early commercial after Morgan’s childish tantrum, Morgan will not be incredibly missed.
