Piers took to his Twitter account to write, “Wishing Her Majesty, The Queen a full & speedy recovery from COVID-19. Worrying for any 95-year-old person to catch this virus, and a very worrying time for Britain when it’s our Monarch. Good luck, Ma’am.”

Many of his Twitter followers commented on the matter with, “I’m concerned our inspirational Queen is continuing with light duties. Those around her should be advising her to have complete rest. My 85 year old mother would be getting an earful if she even thought about boiling an egg!” along with, “Mum will be absolutely fine. She’s a fighter our precious Monarch. Sending love and prayers to our Queen.”
Another fan wrote, “I genuinely think she’ll be fine. She’s likely got omicron and if it’s anything like me, she’ll run a fever for 4 days then be good as good. She’s got the best doctors in the world and she’s been jabbed. Why are you afraid if you truly have faith in the jab? Kinda sus.”
In a statement, Buckingham Palace said: “Buckingham Palace confirm that The Queen has today tested positive for Covid. Her Majesty is experiencing mild cold-like symptoms but expects to continue light duties at Windsor over the coming week. She will continue to receive medical attention and will follow all the appropriate guidelines.”
That said, Queen is not the only person in her circle to test positive for Covid-19, a royal source said on Sunday. “A number of cases have been diagnosed in the Windsor Castle team,” one source has said. A royal source confirmed at the time that the Queen had “recently” met her eldest son, but the source did not elaborate on exactly when the interaction had taken place.
