Aaron Rodgers‘ father, Ed Rogers, has come out and defended his son in light of the criticism he has received following his covid-19 vaccination comments.

Aaron, for his part, had informed the media that he was ‘immunised.’ Therefore, people naturally assumed this meant he had taken the covid vaccine.

When it transpired that this was not the case, Aaron was accused of lying to everyone. This forced the star to publicly apologise and clarify his comments.

To make matters even more troubling, Aaron was recently fined on the grounds that he had violated covid rules concerning NFL players.

He had reportedly attended a Halloween Party with his teammate, which contravened the rules on unvaccinated players mingling in groups of 3 or more.

Despite the criticism that has been coming his way, Ed has backed his son. This is very significant because of the fact that Ed and Aaron have been estranged. Given that they are not on good terms, it was surprising to see Ed come out and address this issue.

However, it looks as though, blood is thicker than water. During an interview on USA Today, Ed said: “I think he tried to probably treat himself naturally, like a lot of folks do.

“And there’s a lot of great natural things out there, which help mitigate the virus. So I’m proud of him. I’m proud that he went that route.”

Much in the same way, Aaron has also taken steps to ensure that the relationship with his father has improved. Although they have not spoken to each other directly about this particular controversy, Ed did admit that they have become closer.

And at a time when Aaron is facing huge criticism, he needs the support of everyone that he can get. He added: “The main thing (is) I just support him. I’m proud of him.

“I trust his judgment and decisions. I think that’s what I would’ve done.” Let us hope Aaron and Ed can overcome all these current hurdles. And with his father by his side, Aaron has every chance of doing just that.
