Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been fined by the NFL on the grounds that he failed to heed the Covid-19 rules and regulations on players.

Green Bay Packers Stars Aaron Rodgers And Allen Lazard Fined For Breaching Covid Regulations

According to reports, Aaron has been fined $14,650 after an investigation concluded that he had gone to a Halloween party in contravention of the rules which banned unvaccinated sports players from mixing in groups bigger than three.

To make matters even more difficult for Aaron, the Green Bay Packers were also fined $300,000. Naturally, that is not going to endear him to the rest of the team, nor the owners who are responsible for paying his salary.

Mark Murphy, who happens to be the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Green Bay Packers, had a lot to say on the matter.

During an interview with CNN, he said: “We respect the League’s findings and we recognize the importance of adherence to the COVID protocols. We will continue to educate the team regarding the importance of the protocols.”

Aaron was not the only person who was punished, though. His teammate Allen Lazard had also been punished along the same lines following the exact same breach.

Although this does not justify what Aaron may have done in the view of his critics, it does show that there are other NFL players out there who may disagree with the current Covid regulations.

In any event, it draws a further spotlight on Aaron’s recent criticism where he was accused of lying to the media over his vaccination status when he informed the press that he was ‘immunised’ despite not having taken the Covid vaccine.

While Aaron is regretful, in part, he has continued to stand by what he believes in. In an interview on the ‘The Pat McAfee Show’, he said: “I shared an opinion that is polarising.

“I get it, and I misled some people about my status which I take full responsibility of. I have to stay true to who I am. I stand behind the things that I said.”

This may not be the last time that we hear of Aaron facing consequences over having this stance. If you liked reading this article, then check out our other features on the Daily Soap Dish.
