Netflix Tiger King spoilers was a wild ride. It got kind of confusing after awhile, because it focused mostly on Joe Exotic who was this over the top owner of a privately owned zoo for mostly Big Cats. They didn’t really talk much about how he got into the business or anything just that he used to be a reptile handler and that one day he decided to buy a snow leopard and that is what got him into the wildlife business. According to this documentary, the wildlife business is cray and you’ll find more of the underbelly of society there than most other places… least in the for-profit establishments, it seems.
Joe Exotic used to take big cats to malls and other public places and have ‘cub pettings’ where people could pet live cubs but no one realized that these cubs were being bred by Joe himself. Once Carole Baskin of Big Cat Rescue found this out she went for Joe’s throat and wanted to have him shut down. The fact of the matter is, he should not have been breeding the big cats for profit but that was kind of what his business model was based on. He wanted a reality TV show and did have a lot of it filmed, even hired a TV producer who had been on Inside Edition with Bill O’ Reilly previously (why does that not surprise me?), named Rick Kirkham who had everything since 1999 filmed. But that went up in a blaze and shortly after Kirkham left the zoo.

Tiger King – Did Kirkham set the fire?
He said he was so upset that he got down on his knees and cried after the fire because the production studio had been gutted by the flames as well as the alligator house, but another employee of Exotic’s thinks that Kirkham himself set the fire simply because there was an email exchange between Kirkham and Baskin offering him $20,000 if he burned all of the footage and got the heck out of dodge. Kirkham himself said that but he said he had worked hard on the footage so there was no way he was going to destroy it. As a producer, I can see where he wouldn’t want his entire life’s work to go to waste. They say on the security tape that Kirkham is seen walking around before the blaze takes place, but its never been proven who did it. Joe Exotic said it was either someone Baskin hired, or an animal rights activist group, although must say that the only ones I really feel for here are the alligators… they got roasted alive. OUCH! From the looks of things, this mystery goes deep, and according to the Feds this is far from over. Stay tuned!!!
