Bad news for Netflix users who love the musical drama series, Soundtrack, as the show gets canceled on Netflix. The franchise canceled the series after airing only one season.
The streaming giant initially developed an interest in Soundtrack and picked it up a few months after Fox decided to not to do the show. Netflix picked it up and created a series out of the story. The franchise ordered a 10 episode season in July 2018 and the series premiered on December 18, 2018.

Netflix Series Soundtrack Trailer: Cast, Plot, and Ratings

Jenna Dewan, host of Fox’s dating show, Flirty Dancing starred in the series. We also saw Callie Hernandez and Paul James. The series tells the love tales of a diverse group of Los Angeles residents. Created by Josh Safran, Soundtrack has originally titled Mixtape. The story has characters lip-synching hit songs such as Sia’s “Elastic Heart.”
Sadly, criticsdidn’tlike Soundtrack when it premiered and it had an average Rotten Tomatoes score of 38%, which was based on only eight reviews. However, viewers on Netflix seemed to like the story a bit better. It netted a 93% score, which was based on 137 ratings.

Netflix Series Soundtrack Trailer: Series Creator Announces The Cancellation

The creator of the series, Josh Safran had revealed before the premiere of the show that he had plans to create a second season, but he hasn’t said anything yet on whether he might shop Soundtrack elsewhere. “We just have a lot more we want to do,” Safran said. “I actually had 13 episodes, so when it moved to Netflix we had to shave three off of that and push the story together. There’s so much more.”
Announcing the Netflix cancellation, Safran took to Twitter to show his disappointment. He said he “worked tirelessly on it” with the team, and that he “felt we’d made something unique, fresh, weird, and, well, great. And yet, it all but disappeared. Barely even got reviewed. I personally feel like it never came out.”
Safran also thanked Netflix viewers who watched the show. He thanked the cast and crew of  Soundtrack and urged anyone who is yet to watch the show to watch it, especially since the first season does end with a sense of closure: He wrote: “I hope you get to see it someday.”
