Netflix Series Soundtrack Trailer: Series Creator Announces The Cancellation
The creator of the series, Josh Safran had revealed before the premiere of the show that he had plans to create a second season, but he hasn’t said anything yet on whether he might shop Soundtrack elsewhere. “We just have a lot more we want to do,” Safran said. “I actually had 13 episodes, so when it moved to Netflix we had to shave three off of that and push the story together. There’s so much more.”
Announcing the Netflix cancellation, Safran took to Twitter to show his disappointment. He said he “worked tirelessly on it” with the team, and that he “felt we’d made something unique, fresh, weird, and, well, great. And yet, it all but disappeared. Barely even got reviewed. I personally feel like it never came out.”
Safran also thanked Netflix viewers who watched the show. He thanked the cast and crew of Soundtrack and urged anyone who is yet to watch the show to watch it, especially since the first season does end with a sense of closure: He wrote: “I hope you get to see it someday.”
