Netflix’s ‘The Witcher’ has become one of the streaming platform’s most popular shows. Henry Cavill as the title character, Geralt of Rivia is amazing. Not only does he have the look and ability to portray the character. He also has the knowledge and passion! He understands what he needs to show for the fans, and he goes out of his way to make it a reality.

Cavill performed all of his own stunts and swordplay in the series, making it an even tougher feat for the actor. In another video, we watched as Cavill took us through the battle of Blaviken. He showed us the incredible one-shot fight and how they were able to achieve it. In this video, Cavill shows off the different swords used the show, and each of their purposes for the story, and in production.

In the video, he goes into detail about the steel and silver sword. Cavill discusses their purpose to Geralt. Steel is for humans and monsters, while silver is used for monsters. Normally, silver wouldn’t be worth anything in a sword, due to its softness and malleability. However, when dealing with monsters and magic, it does the job.

In the production side of things, he has the actual steel sword he performs with. As well as rubber swords for getting close to another actor or actresses’ face or body. A half-bladed sword is used for maiming or dismembering. In post-production, the can CGI the tip of the sword, and show it going through a stunt man’s limb. This, of course, is to protect everyone and avoid injuries, even from a rubber sword.

You can see how much pride Cavill takes in the role. He over explains if anything, and is truly dedicated to the role. We hope to see the second season soon! In the meantime, these videos will fill the void.
