Sad news for fans as Netflix cancels its post-apocalyptic dramedy, Daybreak. The movie starring Matthew Broderick will no longer stream on Netflix. The sad news was announced by Aron Eli Coleite, the show’s co-creator/executive producer. This is coming a month and a half after the show launched on Oct. 24.
On Monday night, Coleite announced via Twitter that the post-apocalyptic dramedy, which was launched Oct. 24, won’t getting a second season. “We learned last week that Daybreak will not be returning for a second season,” he wrote.

The show, Daybreak is a Netflix Original post-apocalyptic story that is based on the comic book series, “Daybreak” created by American cartoonist, Brian Ralph.

Daybreak tells the story of an eclectic group of survivors. This group navigate our strange and treacherous world.While the comic and TV series are the same, they have different tones. Daybreak exhibits a lot of dark comedy and a lot of fun to accompany the dark side. While the TV Series is dark, the comic book is arguably darker.
Daybreak’s Official Netflix Renewal Status
After waiting for a couple of months, Netflix officially confirmed that Daybreak won’t be coming back for season 2.
Does Daybreak have any chances of being revived?
Any series Netflix cancels is not likely to return from the dead. If comedy TV series, Santa Clarita Diet, despite its popularity, didn’t return to the screens, then we don’t expect anything different for Daybreak. The chance of Daybreak being purchased by another network is actually very slim, as most networks don’t pick up a canceled series. Although this happened with One Day at a Time, but that’s because Sony is the producer of the series.
