‘Days of Our Lives (DOOL)’ spoilers reveal Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) gets a bad rap in Salem. Admittedly, for good reason. He’s no saint, for sure. However, there aren’t too many in Salem who are. As newer viewers who met these characters a few years ago, we continue to be surprised by the past tidbits that came out, and a lot of them prove some aren’t as innocent as they might like to act. Or are seen as by the town. Let’s take a look at why Salem might want to cut Xander some slack.

NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Good intent

First, Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal Xander has had good intentions for some of his shadier moves. Like when he went against his better judgement and agreed to Victor Kiriakis’ (John Aniston) baby swap idea. Really, he was more worried about Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) and Sarah Horton (Lindsay Godfrey) than anything. It obviously blew up in his face, but sparing pain was his only motivation there.

NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Familiar story

We’ve talked about this one before. It seems Salem has a bad habit of holding some more accountable for bad deeds than others. And some people, no matter what good they do, just aren’t quite accepted by Salem.

Much like Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk), Xander saw a new way, thanks to circumstances. Like a child and falling in love. While Kristen was led to the convent life for a while, Xander stayed in Salem and resolved to do everything he could to make Sarah happy. Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be. At least, right now.

Thanks to Kristen and her jail break scheme, Sarah is stuck on some island somewhere. After supposedly leaving Xander for Rex Brady (Kyle Lowder). This has led Xander to some bad places, but it looks like there’s still a good guy in there.

NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: On the sword

Recently, Xander threw himself on the sword for Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien). We were both surprised and not surprised. After all, he did go along with Sami Brady’s (Alison Sweeney) plan to hurt Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker). Despite this, his better side won out when it came to Gwen.

See, Days of Our Lives spoilers indicate Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) learned about Gwen’s drug connections. He was furious and confronted her about that and the dead doctor.

Showing he’s got class, Xander took full blame. He claimed he was the one working with Gwen’s doctor and she had no idea she was delivering drugs. No matter how many times Gwen seemed to try and come clean, Xander refused to let her look bad.

When she asked about it, he said it was better for Jack to lose a friend than a daughter. That shows a selflessness that we doubt some in this town have. We’re hopeful Xander can eventually get his way out of this mess and be the better person he’s shown he can be. Anything is possible in that town.
