Our guess? Joy could find herself in a difficult situation and turn to Alex and Stephanie for help with the baby. If that happens, it would place her squarely in their orbit and create even more strain on an already complicated relationship.
And while Stephanie may agree to help, we’re not convinced she’ll be thrilled about having Joy become a constant presence in their lives.
Don’t Even Think About It
Elsewhere, EJ DiMera warns Gwen, and it’s easy to see why he’s concerned. Gwen’s interest in becoming the new owner of University Hospital threatens a key piece of EJ’s future plans.
The problem for EJ is that his options are limited. Gwen is sitting on information that could cause serious trouble for him if it falls into the wrong hands, making it difficult for him to take direct action against her.
That’s why we suspect EJ’s warning is really an attempt to intimidate Gwen into backing away from the hospital purchase. If no viable buyer emerges, there’s a chance EJ could remain in control. And with everything happening in his life, he may feel the hospital is more important than ever. Between the potential profits tied to his latest project and Lexie’s ongoing situation, EJ has plenty of reasons to fight for it.
A Dangerous New Alliance?
Meanwhile, Kristen DiMera and Xander Kiriakis find themselves growing closer, and that’s a development that could lead to all kinds of trouble.
For starters, if Xander still hopes to reconcile with Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) someday, getting involved with Kristen would only complicate matters. It also doesn’t help that Gabi DiMera (Cherie Jimenez) spotted the pair looking awfully cozy in the town square. Knowing Gabi, she’s unlikely to keep that information to herself for long.
But the potential fallout may go beyond gossip and jealousy. Kristen and Xander are both known for making bold moves when they feel cornered. If they decide to team up, they could become a much bigger threat to the people around them than anyone realizes.
The reason we’re suspicious is that one of the recent promos features Gwen searching for Xander while he and Kristen are together behind closed doors. That suggests their latest encounter may not stay secret for very long.
If Gwen does end up catching Xander with someone else, it’s hard to imagine she’ll take the news well—especially if that someone is Kristen, a person she’s been getting along with. The betrayal could be enough to send Gwen into full revenge mode.
And if there’s one thing soap fans know about Gwen, it’s that she’s not someone who lets a grudge go easily. When she feels wronged, she tends to strike back in a big way. Just ask the last man who crossed her—he ended up being held captive for an entire year.
