bringing the fury. And revenge scheme. Namely, by pretending to be blind to get Jake Lambert (Brandon Barash) to stay by her side. But we’ve got a couple of problems with this story and how it’s playing out. Let’s break it down.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Understandable—sort of
We’ll be fair by starting out with this. We get Kate’s desire for revenge. It had to have really hurt to go through all the mess with Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) only to find her man moved on.
With Gabi DiMera (Camila Banus), no less. The very woman she’d been clearly insecure about before, no matter how many times Jake assured her Kate’s what he wants.
She probably feels betrayed, cheated, and is feeling a bit of wounded pride. However, we think her revenge plan is a terrible idea for a couple of reasons.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Seriously? Is this the best she can do?
Our first problem lies in the execution of her plan. ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal she was a little too casual with using that mirror, despite knowing her hospital room door was open. Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) busted her and she was forced to admit her plan.
Lucky for her, Chad doesn’t really care if Kate wants to play games with Jake and Gabi. Lesson learned, right? Wrong. And we’re not just taking about when Dr. Snyder (Michael Lowry) caught her.
This Friday, she slipped up again. Multiple times. We were particularly disappointed with her performance while talking about Andre DiMera’s (Thaao Penghlis) similar scheme with Anna DiMera (Leanne Hunley) and Tony DiMera (Penghlis). If Tony and Anna don’t know she’s faking, they’re about as blind as she’s pretending to be. And dumb to boot.
Also, she slipped up a bit around Jake and Gabi, making Gabi question how she knew Gabi was in Jake’s room. Sure, she used the “I smelled your perfume” line, but really… she’s pushing things right now, and we just don’t see her pulling this off long-term.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Too good for this
Finally, we’ve really liked Kate since we started watching a few years back. She’s a tough lady, and she’s usually a lot of fun to watch and got the impression she was a lot smarter than she’s being shown as right now.
The problem is, we think she’s totally giving away every bit of dignity she’s got with this plan. She was practically begging Jake to sleep with her, something we think is coming off as pathetic.
Plus, depending on how far she’s willing to take this, she does have the potential of blurring the lines in her mind between reality and the act. That’s not going to be good for her later on, and we hope she’ll get herself together soon.
