NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers reveal Doug Williams and Julie Williams (Bill Hayes/Susan Seaforth Hayes) have had a lot to do lately. With the potential dementia story for Doug that turned into something else, we have gotten to see them in a new situation. Let’s talk about how they’ve been doing and what Susan had to say.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: The story
First, ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal we were glad to see the dementia angle had more to it than met the eye. Doug isn’t losing his mind at all. No, he was possessed by the devil. We thought that was a great twist on his behavior if they were going to bring this possession story back. Plus, we loved how much fun Hayes appeared to have in the big reveal scene. But he and Seaforth Hayes have been doing even better since.
Doug’s agitation and desperation to get people to believe him feels so real, as well as Julie’s attempts to help calm him down. Not to mention, how well her worry is being played out on screen. Recently, Seaforth Hayes opened up about playing out a potential dementia arc and being a legacy character. Let’s talk a couple of highlights.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Going strong
The interview, with Soap Opera Digest, found Seaforth Hayes reflecting on how nice it is to have something current and relevant to do. Especially since she pointed out legacy characters sometimes are used for “remember when” moments.
Said, Seaforth Hayes, “Instead of being taken back, we’re going forward with a story, which is delightful.”
She also opened up about being recognized by fans when out and about. Interestingly enough, she shared how she was recognized while masked, which just goes to show the level of fan recognition the character and actress have.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Art and life
During the interview, she opened up about the dementia angle and what it means to play that. Said, Seaforth Hayes, “Being an older person married to an older person, you have that fear and frenzy.”
However, she made a point of talking about how Hayes is enjoying all he has to do now at 96, as well as how he starts each day off with a toast to life. It sounds like the pair is doing well, and we can’t wait to see what else is coming for this couple as the story progresses.
If there is one little issue we have with it right now, it’s Doug beating around the bush. He keeps saying Marlena Evans needs help, but he’s not going into details. Especially with John Black (Drake Hogestyn). If anyone would believe him, it would be John. But we’ll see how things develop.
