NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers reveal the filming schedule for the show has been good for fans in 2020. DOOL is the only soap on air that did not go into repeats, but even they were bound to run out of pre-shut down material eventually.
Luckily, the show went back into production just in time. We’ll see the last episode done pre-shut down on October 5th. So, what are we looking at? And what does Freddie Smith have to say about his future on the show? Let’s take a look at the latest.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Production update
First, let’s talk new episodes. According to posts on FB, October 5th will be the last episode completed in full before the coronavirus shut down. From the 6th until the 19th, we’re supposed to be getting episodes that are a mix of footage shot in March and September.
So, ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers indicate we’ll get our first glimpse of what life in Salem looks like in 2020 this week. There are two ways this could go.
The Young and the Restless and ‘Bold and the Beautiful’ were the first two shows to return with new material. This has resulted in some interesting moments. There are some shots that were just plain awkward.
Like when B&B went for a hard closeup of a cheek during a kissing scene between Flo Fulton (Katrina Bowden) and Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks). Y&R had some scenes with awkward actor placement, but they did do a decent job of covering early on when they had characters being interviewed and recorded on a cell phone speaking about Catherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper).
Meanwhile, we think ‘General Hospital’, the next to return, did the best job. Besides making the Nurses Ball and telethon this year instead of having characters gathered in the venue, you’d barely notice anything changed.
Whatever they’re doing, it’s working. And we hope DOOL will take a few notes from them. ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal they’ve had plenty of time to observe their other network counterparts to take takes. Will Salem be the same, or will they go more the B&B/Y&R route? We’ll have to see.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Freddy Smith update
One thing’s for sure. ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) won’t be a part of that world. At least, not as played by Freddie Smith. The actor addressed some previous posts from the PTB that hinted at the character possible returning at some point.
However, the actor stressed he hasn’t been contacted personally about this. Nor does he see him possibly being back (if at all) for at least six months. He’s open to a return, but he said a full-time one might not work.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Future plans
On the Freddie and Alyssa show, the couple talked about their upcoming move to Florida. Which, as of this article, should have been completed. They were very close to leaving when the episode was recorded.
They are ready to be closer to her family and friends there, as well as be in a place where they can focus on a family of their own. With that, plus some other projects they have in the works, makes a long-term DOOL return pretty much a no-go. We’ll have to see where things go.
