NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers indicate that star Matthew Ashford (Jack Deveraux) sure hasn’t wasted any of this time during the coronavirus lockdown. In fact, the actor admits that he spent a lot of time with his family at home while keeping both healthy and safe, just like the rest of the DOOL cast. Here’s what he has to say.
In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, Matthew says that he’s certainly been taking things “one day at a time,” as they say, with the family. When asked what was the last thing he bige-watched at home, Matthew responded with, “My wife got THE BERENSTAIN BEARS for the kids.

I read the books with my older girls, but now they have this series and I’m like, ‘Oh, wow. Is that what you think they sound like? Okay.’ That actually is our binge-watch. We have a whole DVD collection so we can put it on for them so they could watch.”
Matthew also revealed his favorite movie soundtrack. He explained, “This may sound really weird, but the musical soundtrack to To Kill a Mockingbird is a classic. It’s just really beautiful to me. It’s by Elmer Bernstein, and I come back to it again and again. It’s so haunting; it’s sad and lyrical and yet very childlike. It doesn’t have words, but I can hum it in my mind and in my heart and head.”
The actor also revealed something else that many fans perhaps don’t know about him. When asked what is a phrase that he tends to overuse, the handsome DOOL actor said, “‘Never give up.’ It’s true. I use it all the time. I’m a Buddhist and my kids go, ‘Oh, yeah, never give up,’ and I say, ‘That’s pretty much it.’”
