NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers reveal there seems to be a lot of changing fortunes in Daytime. We can think of one, in particular. It’s on another show, ‘General Hospital’. A character went from being the wronged party and completely in the right to doing something just as bad—worse, even.
It hasn’t been exposed yet, but when it does, we’re expecting a major price to pay. And we think the same is in store for a DOOL character. Here’s what you need to know.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: The beginning
So, obviously we were sympathetic to Abigail Deveraux (Marci Miller) at first. Actually, we still see her side of things, even if we think she’s taken it too far. Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien) did, after all, come to Salem with an agenda.
Her goal? To destroy Abigail and her family. And she’s done terrible things to make that happen, like slipping a hallucinogenic drug into Abigail’s drink that sent her to a mental institution.
Can anyone blame Abigail for being hostile to her? Not really. However, we do think there’s a point where enough is enough. Recent weeks have found Gwen completely repentant for what she did and trying hard to form a bond with the family she was never able to know as a kid. Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) is convinced she’s for real, but Abigail won’t bend. This led us to Friday.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Over the top
Now, again, we just want to be clear. We understand that Abigail has every reason to be distrusting. However, everyone around her is telling her to give this a chance. That Gwen really didn’t intend to get pregnant. Yes, it’s possible Abigail could have been right, but she wasn’t. And we think she went way too far.
On Friday, Gwen learned she lost her child. She was devastated and confused. Maybe even a bit guilty, as she asked the doctor if it was anything she’d done. So, she tried to do the right thing and inform Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) of the loss. Unfortunately, she ran into Abigail instead.
Much like someone did to Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) on ‘General Hospital’, ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal Abigail wouldn’t let Gwen get a word in edgewise. She just dove right into vicious and nasty attacks that were so below the belt, we couldn’t.
Things like, “No one here gives a damn about you and your precious baby” and “You’re going to be a God-awful mother”. She even insulted Gwen’s mother to boot. After a while, Gwen couldn’t take it anymore and slapped her. And we cheered. Anyway… this led to a moment we think Abigail will regret for a long time—and it will be a perfect balancing of the karmic scale.
NBC ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Losing ground
So, ‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers reveal Gwen refused to take anymore abuse and insisted on going downstairs to see Chad. Abigail, however, refused to let that happen. She physically grabbed Gwen and struggled with her near the top of a staircase to stop her from talking to Chad. And of course, Gwen took a tumble.
To make this better, Jack and Chad also witnessed the fall. Abigail has stubbornly refused to believe Gwen didn’t purposefully kill her grandmother and insisted she lies about everything still. Wouldn’t it be an interesting twist of fate for Abigail if no one believed her that the fall was an accident.
And we do think it was. Abigail’s in a weird place and we believe she was truly acting on impulse to stop Gwen from going to Chad instead of intentionally shoving her down the stairs. But given she was yelling about wanting Gwen out of their lives?
We think she might have a hard sell on it being totally accidental. They’ve all expressed worry that Abigail is going too far lately. And they know she kidnapped Gwen and tried to inject her with the same drug. So, there’s plenty of reason for them to believe this is an escalation of that behavior.
