Natalie Morales is known to many audiences for having anchored many NBC shows like Today, Access Hollywood and Dateline. However, it has been reported the popular NBC personality is now making a move.
Morales announced to staffers at NBC this Friday that after 22 years with the network, she will be saying goodbye. Morales told her co-workers she is leaving “to spread my own wings and to pursue a new adventure.”
Natalie Morales Leaving NBC to be CBS’ Newest Co-host of ‘The Talk’?
Though there was no confirmation from Morales or NBC, those close to CBS’s ‘The Talk’ expect that Natalie will be the next to fill one of the co-host chairs that has been vacated (and filled and vacated…) by a long line of co-hosts in recent months.
CBS has not confirmed the news yet either, but according to sources, it is widely known that Morales was in talks to join panelists Sheryl Underwood, Amanda Kloots and the two newest hosts (and first men in The Talk’s 12 season history) Jerry O’Connell and Akbar Gbaja-Biamila.
CBS poaching NBC’s Morales isn’t the first and only shake up at NBC. CNN has managed to bring up-and-coming Capitol Hill correspondent, Kasie Hunt over, as well as former executive producer of “NBC Nightly News,” Jenn Suozzo. The two women will be working with CNN’s new streaming-video outlet CNN +, launching early next year.
Morales’ memo to her NBC staffers read in part, “This first half of my life has been one full of adventure, challenges, travel, way too many early wake up calls, and, yes, opportunities to witness history unfold and to tell inspiring and impactful stories that will always be in my mind’s highlight reel.”
It is expected that Morales will continue to contribute to the newly airing season 30 of Dateline for the remainder of the year. An on-air farewell from “Today” is expected in the weeks to come.
