Meghan Markle is getting called out for being “fake” and copying Kate Middleton as her new cooking show, “With Love, Meghan,” is being slammed.
Meghan Saw Princess Kate Made Her Own Honey
In the trailer for her new show, Meghan Markle is trying her hand at beekeeping. Several royal fans have pointed out that the Princess of Wales is known for her love of beekeeping and once shared a picture of herself on World Bee Day in May 2023. She was tending to a beehive at Anmer Hall in Norfolk.
Kate is known for her love of making her own honey, and Queen Camilla is the president of Bees For Development, a charity that protects bee habitats in several countries.
One viewer even tweeted,
“If anyone wanted to read between the lines, this is yet another opportunity for Netflix, Reed Hastings, and Markle to continue trolling the British monarchy since all Meghan is trying to do is imitate an English lifestyle, dressing and keeping bees like Catherine.”
Beekeeping is a hobby that King Charles, Prince William, and Princess Kate have been enjoying for years. Meghan doesn’t appear to have an original idea in her head.
Royal expert and commentator for Royal News Network, Brittany, explains that Meghan’s show doesn’t appeal to the average person doing everything to feed their family and trying to make ends meet.
Brittany points out that Meghan Markle can’t elevate recipes and dishes because she doesn’t have the creativity or talent to do so. She takes well-known recipes that have been around for years and simply copies them without adding anything authentic or different.
Meghan’s Cooking Show Is Fake, Contrived, And Pretentious
In her show, Meghan seems to try to play it off as if her style and methods are approachable. However, her presentation also reminds everyone that she’s a very wealthy woman.
Brittany also explained that Meghan’s cooking show may have worked ten years ago. However, given the state of the economy and the world, it comes off as fake, contrived, and pretentious. It will only appear to women of Meghan’s demographic.
The Duchess of Sussex froze edible flowers in ice cubes and sprinkled flowers on doughnuts, and we have to wonder how practical and attainable that is to the average person.
Meghan’s new Instagram account could have come about because Netflix wanted the cooking show to air, but they couldn’t secure the rights to American Riviera Orchard. They had to change the way they branded the show. Her Instagram account could have been “required for production.”
There are doubts now whether Meghan’s lifestyle brand will ever launch. If Netflix controls the show, they maintain the profits. Meghan has also said on numerous occasions that she would never go back on social media again. Now, she’s suddenly pushing her cooking show on Instagram.
Meghan also isn’t allowing any comments on her Instagram, which means she isn’t exactly fostering community on social media.
We don’t know who will purchase Meghan’s products, and she hasn’t even clarified where to buy them. Meghan wanted to control the narrative, but her fake and contrived nature won’t appeal to the audience she’s trying to connect with, and ARO is still a bust.
