Meghan Markle is rumored to have reached out to Kate Middleton to try to reconcile the relationship. Prince Harry and Meghan have burned their bridges with the royal family. It started with the Duke and Duchess’s dialogue with Oprah in March 2021.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Caused the Royal Rift
Meghan said that there had been dialogues regarding the darkness of her unborn son Archie’s skin. However, she wouldn’t say who was included.
She also said that she couldn’t get the Palace to get her help when she was having mental health challenges. Buckingham Palace was compelled to issue a statement on behalf of Queen Elizabeth.
“The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan. The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning. While some recollections may vary, they are taken seriously and will be addressed by the family privately.”
Kate Middleton reportedly played an important role in response to Harry and Meghan’s conversation with Oprah. “While some recollections may vary” is thought to be a phrase that Princess Catherine offered to cool down the accusations against the royal family.
When Harry wrote “Spare” in January 2023, he included private details about an altercation between him and Prince William that he claimed turned physical. Harry’s brother allegedly threw Harry into the dog bowl, and he ended up with cuts all over his body.
Harry also wrote about an incident before he married Meghan Markle wherein he alleges that Kate made Meghan shed tears over Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid outfit.
Harry also said that he discovered Meghan “sobbing on the floor” because Kate wanted the whole dress redesigned just days before the wedding.
However, Kate said that it was Meghan who made her cry. He said that Kate even apologized and gave Meghan a card and flowers.
Is Kate Open to a Reconciliation with Harry and Meghan?
There was also a bit of discomfort when Meghan asked Kate if she could use her lip gloss during a public appearance. That was brushed off as an “American custom,” the sharing of make-up, which Kate didn’t like.
In November 2023, Omid Scobie’s “Endgame” was released, and the Dutch version of the book revealed the “royal racists,” who were said to be King Charles and Kate Middleton.
And all of this was only the tip of the iceberg. That being said, Meghan has contacted Kate and Charles. A source claims that that doesn’t mean that Kate is willing to reconcile.
However, another source says that Kate would be open to reconciling with her sister-in-law,
“But it’s going to take a lot of work,”
they explained.
“There are still hurt feelings about Princess Charlotte’s dress for Meghan’s wedding. There is work to do, but she’s willing to move forward,” they said. It’s hard to sort out who instigated the crying incident before the Sussex’s wedding over Charlotte’s ill-fitting dress.”
A source claims that Meghan has been supportive of Harry and wants nothing but the best for the royal family.
She doesn’t want to tell Harry how to handle his family matters, but she encourages him to try reconciling with them. Meghan contacting Kate may be the first step towards a potential reunion.
