“You tried everything to bury me after the war,” Meghan said, quoting Greek post-war poet Dinos Christianopoulos. “But you forgot that I was a seed,” the closing words to cap off the series. This naturally raised the question of who was Meghan directing these words towards?
Well, since her exit from the Royal Family in 2020, she gave a series of controversial interviews making damning claims towards the firm. In an Oprah Winfrey interview, she alleged that someone in the Royal Family had reservations about her son, Archie’s skin colour.
Meanwhile, in ‘The Cut,’ she alleged that a member of the British media had referred to her son with the N-word. And in both instances, she refused to name the people involved which is why the podcast gave her an opportunity to do things on her own terms.
But now that it has come to a conclusion, the chances of it being renewed depend on a variety of factors. First of all, there has to be an obvious willingness on Meghan’s part to want to continue with it.
Secondly, Spotify has to consider whether it wants to invest more money with Markle in light of the current performances. Lastly, in any event, it is all about the question about ratings.
The fans on social media made their position very clear. A significant proportion of them did not want to see the podcast being renewed, thus indicating their lack of enthusiasm for the project.
One person wrote: “Please let there be NO second season,” while another person stated: “Well, if there is no one should have to listen to it bc it will be the exact same sewage as this one was.”
