She’s done it again. Madonna has once again come under fire for recreating Marilyn Monroe’s death in what many critics are calling a tasteless photo spread for V Magazine. A lot of critics are calling it both “gross and inappropriate.” Here’s what you need to know.
Madonna looks exactly like Mariyln Monroe in the photos shot by Steven Klein. However, the shot in question has Madonna laying face down on a mattress exposing her bottom, while in another photo, prescription pill bottles can be seen on her nightstand. Marilyn Monroe was found dead in her home and is said to have overdosed on pills the previous night.
Critics Slam Madonna For Recreating Marilyn Monroe’s Death In Tasteless Photo Spread
“For some morbid and eerie reason, Madonna decides to re-create Marilyn Monroe’s death bed,” one critic wrote, along with, “Yuck. Gross and inappropriate.”
Earlier this month, Madonna was also roasted for looking much different in her Instagram photos than in real life. Sounds familiar, right? Madonna looked nothing like herself, well at least her Instagram self, when she stepped out for an impromptu concert on the streets of Harlem in New York City.
She posted a photo of her outing on Instagram, but it looked nothing like the photos that were printed online. Wearing a fitted balck ensemble and plenty of jewelry, Madonna looked completely wrinkle-free in the photo that she shared on her social media account.
Of course, this prompted a lot of her fans and critics to comment on the matter. One person shared side-by-side photos of the singer and captioned it with, “Real life vs. Instagram,” while another wrote, “Madonna, Reality versus the pics she posts of herself on Instagram.”
But one of her fans defended Madonna by writing, “SHOCKING! I sincerely don’t get all this hate for madge. SHE IS AN ARTIST! duh. give me a break! Please don’t try to tell me IG is a platform for “honest” imagery. It’s all a facade.”
