Someone change grandma’s password on her iPhone because she’s ranting on social media again. There’s a new report that says Madonna is calling gun control the “new vaccine” and wants police jailed without trial in what a lot of people are calling a very bizarre post.
If that weren’t enough, the former chart topper says that gun control should be mandatory for all citizens, regardless of what they do of where they live. Here’s what you need to know.
WTH? Madonna Calls Gun Control The New Vaccine
Apparently, Madonna is taking matters into her own hands by calling for gun control and police accountability in a series of social media posts over the weekend. She took to Instagram, aiming to “wake up America” to the need to stem gun violence.
A video shows her putting up signs with the hashtags “#WAKEUPAMERICA” and “#GUNCONTROLNOW,” with unidentified people. It’s unclear where the singer is. Throughout most of the video, she wears a bright blue ski mask that covers her face.
Right before the end of the video, Madonna turned the camera on herself and then gave a speech about gun control, comparing to a vaccine.
“Have you heard of this new vaccination for America? It’s going to keep us all alive, it’s going to keep us all safe,” she says. “It’s called gun control, OK? It’s called gun safety, alright? New vaccination. It should be mandatory for all citizens.”
If that weren’t enough, she also addressed the recent police shooting of Adam Toledo in Chicago and Daunte Wright in Minneapolis.
Madonna wrote, “Adam Toledo was 13 years old, Daunte Wright was 20! The Officers who killed them are only being charged with manslaughter. This is insanity. Horrific. And yet it has become normalized in our society.”
She added: “Yes-people kill people, not guns. But the vast majority of people are not enlightened and guns are too easy to own. If they were outlawed then no one would feel the need to own a gun to protect themselves from those who have guns.”
So far Madonna has not made any additional comments about the matter.
