Love Island news fans were delighted to hear this weekend that Marcel Somerville and his girlfriend are expecting their first child together. The announcement comes just one year after it was revealed that Rebecca Viera suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage. It was a heartwarming reveal by Marcel, who broke the news to OK! Magazine.
During the announcement, he revealed that he was just working on some new music in the studio before turning around to see Rebecca holding a vast number of pregnancy tests. She revealed to Marcel that she wanted to make sure that she was actually pregnant before revealing the news to him.
Love Island News: Couple Been Together 14 Months
Marcel and Rebecca have been dating for 14 months. The heartbreaking miscarriage came very early in their relationship, but they have recently revealed that the heartbreak that came with that has enabled them to become a much stronger couple in the long-term. The couple have already been through an awful lot together, with Marcel recently revealing that he almost died.
He was rushed into hospital after collapsing with Diabetic Ketoacidosis. Fortunately, Marcel was able to leave intensive care after being in hospital for just over one week. In the announcement that he made on social media, he revealed that he was extremely grateful for the support that he received from the NHS throughout that period.
Love Island News: Marcel Found Love After Love Island
Marcel was a hugely popular part of the third series of Love Island, as coupled up with Gabby Allen. The two of them split soon after the show had ended, with claims in the press indicating that Marcel cheated on Gabby while they were on holiday in Mexico.
He remains one of the most popular contestants the show has ever had, and was featured regularly on the best bits that aired on Friday. Friday’s instalment was titled Love Island: All The Lols.
Marcel featured heavily in the opening part of the episode as he was ridiculed for how much he talked about being a member of the Blazin Squad. Marcel first revealed the news and claimed that he wanted to keep it a secret, however, within a couple of days he had told the entire villa that he was part of the band.
