La Reina del Sur spoilers for Monday, July 15th bring a shocking turn for Teresa Mendoza (Kate del Castillo), some questions for Francesco Belmondo (Raoul Bova), and a second shocking twist. If you missed all the action, let’s fill you in in today’s La Reina del Sur recap.
La Reina del Sur spoilers: See ya
Today, Rocío and Paloma Aljarafe (Sara Vidorreta and Agata Herranz) are ready to say goodbye to Cayetana Aljarafe (Luisa Gavasa). The pair brings her and Charo (Carmen Flores Sandoval) to the airport, now that they know Teresa and Sofia (Isabella Sierra) are also on their way out of the country. As usual, Cayetana is her charming self. She insults the girls some more before finally ordering Charo to board the plane with her. Why on earth Charo stays with this bruja is beyond us.
La Reina del Sur spoilers: Allies?
In la carcel, we see that the guy talking to Faustino Sánchez Godoy (Lincoln Palomeque) is Anton (Dimitry Anisimov). They speak a bit about the death of Oleg Yasikov (Antonio Gil) and how Faustino was busted trying to help Zurdo Villa (Flavio Medina) get away. They also talk about how Teresa is going to have some major problems on her hands, should Zurdo survive.
Later, a chat outside about their situation is interrupted by a guard telling Faustino a visitor’s come to see him
La Reina del Sur spoilers: Making plans
This turns out to be Rocío, who is taking her engagement to Faustino seriously. She’s willing to be there for him, but Faustino doesn’t think she should waste her time. He says that he’s going to be locked up for life, most likely. If they don’t extradite him to the US and execute him, that is.
Rocío won’t hear any of this. She offers up basically all the money that she was given by Teresa to help get him out of here. This seems to turn things around for the pair, and he suddenly has hope.
La Reina del Sur spoilers: Twist of fate
Meanwhile, Teresa, Sofia, and Jonathan Peres (Tiago Correa) arrive at the airport. Teresa’s plan is to board that plane and get as far away from here as possible. There’s just one problem. Manuela (Paola Núñez) has managed to get on the small group’s trail, and she’s already got a plan in action. She’s listening to the group speak through a bug in the plane when she activates a bomb timer.
As the Telenovela Gods would have it, Sofia picks just them to remember her cat, Tozzi. She had left him in the car they arrived in, and says she can’t leave without him. Teresa protests, saying they can send for the cat later, but Sofia stands firm. She says it would be like Teresa leaving her somewhere. Teresa relents and gets out of the plane.
When she retrieves the cat and turns to go back to the plane, the craft explodes, knocking Teresa into the car.
La Reina del Sur spoilers: No time
Teresa hasn’t got the time to recover from the blow, both physically and emotionally. Manuela, having overheared Teresa was getting out of the plane and unable to stop the bomb, is in improv mode. She pulls out a gun and goes on the attack.
Fortunately for Teresa, her survival instincts kick in and she manages to defend herself and send Manuela running. Around the same time, though, a bunch of military vehicles are swarming the area. Teresa is forced to escape and regroup.
La Reina del Sur spoilers: Q&A
In other news, it seems that Alejando Alcalá (Mark Tacher) has decided to do a little investigating. He has Francesco brought to him, then questions his rouge agent about how things went down. Francesco denies having anything to do with the escape of Teresa and Sofia, but we don’t think Alejandro is buying it. We smell major trouble ahead for this kidnapper-turned-father figure.
Of course, there could be trouble for Alejandro and the others instead. Alejandro had informed him that Sofia and Jonathan were eliminated when the plane blew up, and Manuela (aka Kira) is hot on Teresa’s trail. Given how Francesco looked at Sofia like a daughter, this could end badly.
La Reina del Sur spoilers: More twists
Remember when César “Batman” Güemes (Alejandro Calva) was going on about a deal that caused his injury? Well, it looks like he might possibly be #TeamTeresa. Today, we see that he’s got none other than the very not-dead Oleg in his place. He injects something into an IV to help wake him, then threatens to use vodka if that doesn’t work.
