Tuesday, May 28th La Reina del Sur spoilers reveal that Epifanio Vargas (Humberto Zurita) has a plan to deal with his ex, Sofia Dantes (Isabella Sierra) is convinced that Francesco Belmondo (Raoul Bova) is a liar, and Teresa Mendoza (Kate del Castillo) has baited her hook. If you missed the action, let’s get to your La Reina del Sur recap.

La Reina del Sur spoilers: Epi’s Patsy

Epifanio’s true shady is coming out today. Things here start off with Alejandro Alcalá (Mark Tacher) ripping the campaign staff a new one as they work on a smear campaign against Carmen Martínez (Patricia Reyes Spíndola).. He wants them to drop trying to make the ex look completely insane, and we soon learn why.
At the same time, Epifanio is at Carmen’s place, confronting Viriginia Vargas (Vera Mercado) and Jimena Montes (María Camila Giraldo) about the gun laying on the floor. They beg for his help, as there’s an obvious set up happening. Conveniently, the cops are knocking at the door. Epifanio and Jimena argue a bit, and she actually grabs the gun. He scolds her for putting her prints on it, and they hide the weapon before Epifanio lets the police in. This is where things really come into focus.

Epifanio tries to get the official with a warrant to back off, but this official doesn’t like yet another politician trying to sway the authorities. He goes forward with the search, which reveals the gun. Once again trying to “help”, Epifanio talks the man into taking Jimena out the back so this “innocent girl” doesn’t have her life ruined unfairly. That, at least, is granted. He waits for the cops to leave before agreeing to help—but he needs something from Carmen: to recant her story, and give him that divorce. With her agreement, he heads out and places a call to Alejandro. Apparently, the lapdog’s outdone himself with the latest move.

La Reina del Sur spoilers: Manners are important—even when kidnapped

Francesco and the rest have decided it’s better for Sofia to be elsewhere. Namely, an island. He brings Sofia by boat to her new hiding place, telling her that it will be impossible to leave here. She counters that he’s never seen her swim, but he’s not worried. He says she’d have to be turned into a dolphin to swim away from here. Or, you know, steal the boat? This kid’s shown she’s a magician. #JustSaying. She’ll have more freedom here, though, with no locked doors and the ability to run outside and play when she wants.
He leaves her alone to attend to a call from his co-conspirators about how brilliant this new locale is before going to back Sofia. He asks if there is anything that she’d like brought when the supplies are delivered. She runs down a huge laundry list of art supplies like a boss, and he says he’ll see what he can do before scolding her for not saying please. Seriously? What kid’s going to be all “please” and “thank you” when being held captive? Anyway… eventually, Sofia ends up bringing up the topic of who he was with again, because she knows he was with someone. The perfume is all over him. He thinks it’s none of her business.

La Reina del Sur spoilers: Severance Package

Poor Willy Rangel (Christian Tappan) is having a bad day. While Manuela (Paola Núñez) is in a panic over the flowers he left, he’s getting fired by Erik Sheldon (Eric Roberts). He’d come in the office to question his boss about “KIRA”, to which Erik responds by handing Willy his severance package. Willy tries to get more info about the obvious codename for an op, as well as how it relates to Teresa, but Eric won’t say a word. Instead, he tells Willy to go off and enjoy retirement while the rest of them work.

La Reina del Sur spoilers: Operation Trojan Horse

Things get tense today, as Teresa is setting the bait for their Zurdo Villa (Flavio Medina) trap. Oleg Yasikov (Antonio Gil) and the rest are sitting before a huge video/audio setup that is going to allow them to keep an eye on things, while Sheila (Cuca Escribano) and Marcela (Carmen Navarro) are sitting inside the place in disguise. It doesn’t take long for their target to appear and chat Teresa up. Seems he’d met her once many years ago, but he was a lowly nothing then. Over the years, he climbed the ladder with the goal of ultimately getting into business with the great Reina del Sur. By the time he was in that position, though, she’d already disappeared and he couldn’t figure out how to contact her. They eventually get to talking about Epifanio, whom they both have a grudge against. She also makes it clear that she’s got it in for Siso Pernas (Miguel Ángel Blanco) as well. When she wants to know more about how he knew she was here, he has a device pulled out that blocks all cells and other such things out of caution.

Meanwhile, Oleg is now in a panic, realizing that something bad could be about to happen without visual or audio contact. He orders his men to get ready, and they swarm the place in secret as they wait for the attack order. Teresa had realized this would probably happen and makes a quick excuse to leave. Zurdo isn’t ready for her to leave just yet, and invites her to a party in her honor. She plays it totally cool by taking the card he hands for about two seconds before handing it back and leaving. His number is memorized, and she’s going to let him squirm a bit before reeling him in. She’s just glad to have gotten away before the men attacked and ruined the ploy.
