King Charles III's Christmas Speech Slammed After Speaking About Cost Of Living Crisis

In his inaugural Christmas speech, King Charles III focused on the rising cost of living and the worries of those having difficulty affording to pay for expenses and putting food on the table for their families.

Amid the country’s financial distress and the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, the monarch devoted a substantial portion of his address to those who were attempting to ameliorate the suffering of others.

Videos of charitable organisations giving out meals to the less fortunate were highlighted in his speech as he acknowledged the generosity of the people who had contributed either food or their effort. With that being said, Charles had nothing but good words to say about those going out of their way for others.

In his comments, he said: “I particularly want to pay tribute to all those wonderfully kind people who so generously give food or donations, or that most precious commodity of all – their time – to support those around them in greatest need, together with the many charitable organisations.”

From the same place where Queen Elizabeth II had broadcasted her Christmas message in 1999, St George’s Chapel, Windsor, the speech was presented. During his speech, the monarch paid homage to his mother, and showed acknowledgement to those who had experienced the loss of a cherished one.

Despite this being the case, many people began to bash the monarch. This was on the basis that he was the last person to speak about helping others since he was a representation of everything that summed up inequality.

One person wrote: “Charles is sitting on a huge fortune, most of which is either the result of slavery, unique and unjust tax breaks or the state allowing him and his family multi-million pound income from state assets. He has no business patronising the country like this.”
