King Charles III Becomes Social Media Sensation After Ordering Aid To Clear His Desk
Just prior to signing the Accession Proclamation, which would have confirmed his official appointment to the throne, he had a little trouble signing the actual document. In the video here, we can see that the King is getting ready to sign the document.
But as he does so, the case that included the pens is getting in his way. Subsequently, Charles urged his aide to remove it, as it was clear that he was not happy. This was particularly since this was being broadcast live in front of a global audience.
It is not surprising that the fans on social media had a lot to say about this. A significant proportion of them found the incident hilarious, and the comments were reflective of that.
One person wrote: “The servant must clear my desk for me. I can’t be expected to move things,” while another person stated: “First day on the job and already he’s fed up. LOL.”

But jokes aside, Charles had some time to make a speech in order to commemorate his mother. After all, she was the longest British monarch and Head of State. With that being said, he had the opportunity to witness first-hand what it would take in order to lead the country as a monarch.
And as part of that process, he understood he would be inheriting a difficult task. But that is something that he hopes he can take in his stride. His following comments confirmed as much: “My mother’s reign was unequaled in its duration, its dedication and its devotion.
“Even as we grieve we give thanks for this most faithful life. I am deeply aware of this great inheritance and of the duties and heavy responsibilities of sovereignty which have now passed to me.”
