If he can’t help boost their ratings, then no one can. There are new reports that say Jerry O’Connell has replaced ousted television personality Sharon Osbourne to become the first male co-host of The Talk. Here’s what you need to know.
As many fans know by now, Osbourne received a massive payout from The Talk following her controversial and emotional debate about racism with her former co-host Sherryl Underwood.
Osbourne was also criticized when she defended her showbiz pal Piers Morgan over the comments he made about Meghan, Duchess of Sussex during an on-air debate.
Jerry O’Connell Replaces Sharon Osbourne On The Talk
Osbourne became visibly upset during the exchange with Underwood and demanded that her co-host offer instances of when Morgan had been racist.
O’Connell, who has been guest hosting for the past two months, has been brought on by the CBS daytime talk show as Osbourne’s official replacement.
O’Connell said during the episode that aired Wednesday, “It’s real exciting.”
“First of all, I want to say, you ladies have been so welcoming to me,” he said to his fellow co-hosts. “I mean, I came here as a guest months ago, and just from the moment I walked in, you’re just gracious, you’re kind, you’re fun, and it worked. And here we are. We’re going to have a lot of fun, we really are.”
Now as far as Sharon Osbourne is concerned, it doesn’t seem she’s bitter about getting the boot, she is still walking away with a hefty sum. One source claims that “Sharon is walking away with a $5 to $10 million minimum payout.” Not only that, the source noted, but she “was able to spin that it was her decision” not to stay.
