Here’s proof that people actually do agree with Piers Morgan. Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson went on the record to defend the British television personality after he supposedly got the boot for refusing to apologize to Meghan Markle after claiming that he didn’t believe she experienced suicidal thoughts during her time at the palace.
Jeremy didn’t mince any words when he said that people will soon forget about Meghan Markle following her explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey about her not-so-royal life at Buckingham Palace. Here’s what you need to know.

During their tell-all, Prince Harry told Oprah during their sit down that his father Prince Charles had cut him off, both financially and emotionally. Meghan said that she experienced suicidal thoughts while she was pregnant with the child’s son Archie back in 2018.
The next day Piers said he didn’t believe a word Meghan said during the interview, which led to 40,000 complaints and an additional one from Meghan, which led to him getting the boot from the ITV network.
Jeremy said that given everything the British monarchy has been through in the past, he is “fairly sure it’ll be able to weather the banal musings of a silly little cable TV actress.”
He added: “Trust me on this one. Markle’s toast, and within five years, I suspect she’ll be posing for photographs, on her own outside the Taj Mahal or sitting on the back of a playboy’s yacht in the Med, and poor old Piers will realize that he lost his job over absolutely nothing at all.”
For a lot of Top Gear fans, Jeremy’s support of Piers Morgan definitely comes out of the blue. The pair have not always been friendly, having had an infamous punch-up at the 2004 British Press Awards. Apparently, an intoxicated Jeremy Clarkson “ambled over to The Mirror’s table […] and attacked, swinging a right hook at Morgan.”
“It was actually three punches,” Piers later said about the dust up. “He permanently scarred me above my temple because he had a ring on, but the good news was he broke his little finger hitting my head because I’m that hard.”
