But Ben Affleck must have missed have not been taking notes in class because the actor seemingly threw his ex-wife Jennfier Garner under the bus when he told Howard Stern in an interview that their marriage might have been one of the reasons why he was drinking so much in the past. Ben Affleck has become one of the most hated people on the internet for the comments he made about his marriage to Jen Garner. He said he felt “trapped” in his marriage to Garner, which drove him to drink alcohol.
Jennifer Garner’s Friends Have The Same Thoughts As Everyone Else When It Comes To Ben Affleck
Part of why I started drinking was because I was trapped,” the 49-year-old actor told Stern. “I was like, ‘I can’t leave because of my kids, but I’m not happy, what do I do?’ And what I did was [I] drank a bottle of scotch and fell asleep on the couch, which turned out not to be the solution.”
The comments led fans to drag Affleck online, with some even using the hashtag #TeamGarner. And now it seems like a few sources close to Jen Garner are also calling out Ben for his unnecessary comments about his ex-wife.
“It’s disgusting,” one industry insider who knows both Affleck and Garner well said of the actor’s comments. “Jen has been the only one picking him up time and time again when he’s done horrible things — fallen off the wagon or worse.
“Jen stood by him because she loves him. This is the mother of his children.” Another well-placed source told Page Six: “Anyone who knows addict behavior knows how untrue those comments could be for any addict, but particularly Ben. It’s one of the first tenets of AA not to place blame for your disease.”
