Jamie Lynn Spears Finally Speaks Out About Britney Spears’ Conservatorship

Jamie Lynn Spears is finally ready to share her feelings about the matter. After remaining rather quiet about her sister Britney Spears’ court hearing regarding her conservatorship, Jamie Lynn says that she is “proud” of her sister for using her voice in the way she did. Here’s what you need to know.

Jamie Lynn took to her Instagram story this week to explain why she’s been so quiet up until this point.

“The only reason I haven’t [spoken] before is because I felt like until my sister was able to speak for herself and say what she felt she needed to say publicly, that it wasn’t my place and it wasn’t the right thing to do,” the actress began.

“But now that she’s very clearly spoken and said what she needed to say, I feel like I can follow her lead and say what I feel like I need to say.”

The one-time country singer added, “I think it’s extremely clear since the day I was born that I’ve only loved, adored and supported my sister. I mean, this is my freaking big sister, before any of this bulls–t. I don’t care if she wants to run away to a rainforest and have a zillion babies in the middle of nowhere, or if she wants to come back and dominate the world the way she has so many times before, because I have nothing to gain or lose either way.”

Meanwhile, Britney herself took to her Instagram account on Thursday to tell her fans thank you for being there for her through the good times and the bad while also apologizing to them for pretending that everything has been okay behind the scenes, when it wasn’t.

Britney made it clear that she wants her conservatorship to end immediately without any testing and does not want to attend therapy twice a week. She also wants to handpick her own attorney.

“I believe as people we all want the fairy tale life and by the way I’ve posted … my life seems to look and be pretty amazing,” the pop star wrote alongside a quote attributed to Albert Einstein, reading, “If you want your children to be intelligent, read them fairy tales. If you want them to be more intelligent, read them more fairy tales.”

“I apologize for pretending like I’ve been ok the past two years,” she continued. “I did it because of my pride and I was embarrassed to share what happened to me … but honestly who doesn’t want to capture [their] Instagram in a fun light!!!!”
