We all know that Jamie Lynn Spears is Britney Spears’ younger sister, former star of the Nickelodeon show “Zoey 101” back in the day. However, what we don’t really know is much about her actual relationship with her big sister.
There’s a big age gap in between the two, for one thing. For another, until the mid-oughts we didn’t actually know that Britney had a younger sister. In fact for the longest time I was under the impression that Britney was an only child!
What kind of relationship does Jamie-Lynn actually have with Britney Spears?
But that was back during Britney’s heyday. Eventually it was discovered that she had two other siblings, which, honestly was kind of surprising but I guess we expect superstars to be only children.
Jamie Lynn herself has said that when she was little, she toured with Britney and that Britney pretty much let her do whatever she wanted to and she ran around backstage and basically got the royal treatment.
She said she was grateful to Britney because without her she would not have gotten to do a lot of the things that she did as a child and that’s sweet to say, but at the same time you have to question how close they actually were because when Jamie Lynn got pregnant, Britney was first to deny it to the press, saying “My little sister is not pregnant.” and the paparrazzi had to correct her. Talk about your trauma!
Even if she wasn’t particularly traumatized by that, lately Jamie Lynn has been all up in the conservatorship business that Britney wants so desperately to break free of. In fact, Jamie Lynn was at one point, appointed overseer of her finances.
Whether this actually sat well with Britney we don’t know, but we do know that Jamie Lynn was later removed and now Bessemer Trust is helping Dad Jamie Spears oversee the conservatorship, which is half of what Britney wanted. Britney wanted to oust Dad enirely but the judge didn’t see it that way, at least not yet. The Judge did not say no to future requests to remove Dad off the conservatorship.
But getting back to the topic at hand, due to the age gap and the fact that Jamie Lynn has practically come out and said that she wouldn’t have gotten to do a lot of the things that she did as a child if she hadn’t been “Britney Spears’ little sister” one has to wonder, truly, how close they are and why Jamie hasn’t taken a stand for her sister’s independence yet?
It doesn’t seem fair that Jamie Lynn should get to live her life and have access to her own child and Britney doesn’t. So what’s the deal here? Stay tuned!!!
