Most recently, James Charles posted a review of Ariana Grande’s R.E.M. Beauty line saying that he thought that the pricepoint was way too expensive for the quality of the product, stating that her lashes were “cheap drugstore lashes” and that $16 were too high a price to pay for them. ($16? For lashes? Yeowzah.)
That wasn’t the only thing he said, he also said of her palette that he wasn’t impressed with the glitter shades at all and thought that the packaging could be “taken up a notch” so all in all, he gave an honest review of the product which some followers congratulated him on, saying that $16 (lashes) and $24 (palette) was a very high price to pay for makeup and they appreciated his review.
James Charles clairifies his drama with Ariana Grande
However that’s not the only thing he addressed. In an Instagram AMA someone asked him about his drama from four years ago in which he said in a video with Shane Dawson and Ryland Adams that Ariana Grande was the rudest celebrity that he had ever met.
However, it looks like hindsight is 20/20 and in the AMA James Charles answered to the question “What did Ariana Grande do for you to say shes the rudest celebrity you have ever met?” he responded with, “Literally nothing. The fact that I said that is one of my biggest regrets of my career and it still follows me 4 years later which sucks. I plan on talking about it more in depth when I film my review of REM, all I can hope is that people will listen with an open mind.”
Rewind back to four years ago, in the video with Shane and Ryland where they were doing his makeup, he said that Ariana used to be a follower of his and they even DM’d a couple of times, but after all of his scandals started dropping she magically unfollowed him and when he asked “Did I do something wrong?” she said, “I have a lot of followers who were angry and DMing me and I would never want to disappoint them so I unfollowed you.” allegedly, James let her have it calling the people “bullies”.
However when the REM review video dropped, there was no mention of this drama or him addressing it, when an Arianator on Twitter called attention to that fact stating that he was just bitter because he wasn’t on the PR list, James replied with:
“I filmed an intro talking about the drama from 4 years ago, apologized for being a dramatic teen wo got upset over someone they loved unfollowing them and explained that we talked, are good and moved on but I cut it because I knew no matter what I said this would be the response.”
Guess that explains that, he didn’t want to deal with Ariana’s fans hating him all over again, so that’s why he cut out his entire drama explanation. Don’t worry, we’re here for the next time… and it’s James Charles so it’s almost 100% guaranteed that there will be a next time. Stay tuned!!!
