In the house of Ethan Klein, James Charles’ name is mud. Most recently, Charles was featured in a video by fellow youtube creator Brett Rivera who was doing a squid-game challenge with a bunch of other youtube creators and James Charles happened to be one of them.
After having so many scandals attached to his name, including but not limited to that which involved using instagram to talk to (and hook up with) his underage followers, Ethan Klein is not having it.

On his podcast he accused all of the youtube creators involved, but specifically Rivera of “enabling and rehabilitating him”, he even shouted out one of the creators saying, “Sorry bro, but I have to drop you. I know you want to be friends but you can’t expect to be in a video with James Charles and be my friend.”
Ouch!
A lot of people in the comments were actually agreeing with Ethan, at least in a way, although, one said that “Shane is back too so no one cares” and another said that James Charles is being let by because of ‘pretty privilege’ and if he were ‘old and sad looking’ that he wouldn’t have a chance.
(Considering James is nearing his mid-20’s now, he better enjoy his pretty privilege while it lasts, because it doesn’t last forever.) Yet another user pointed out that accepting the ‘dark truth’ would ruin people’s good time, they’re not wrong.
Still, it seems James Charles has a certain level of being bullet-proof when it comes to being cancelled. In times of trouble being tend to flock to him instead of scattering like they do with other creators, it’s an interesting phenomena.
But not everybody agrees with Ethan, in fact there were an equal number of people practically saying “Pot. Kettle. Ethan.”
Ethan is no stranger to giving controversial people a platform, he gave Trisha Paytas the platform that was the frenemies podcast for a long time before the entire thing was dissolved just this past year and a lot of people are just not impressed with the way he’s commenting and advising against giving people a second chance when he gave Trisha Paytas the chance and platform to continually hurt people over and over again.
It looks like Ethan is going to have to learn that you can’t have it both ways. Stay tuned!!!
