Many General Hospital fans are convinced that Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) doesn’t really have Huntington’s disease. There is much speculation that the lie was meant to control her.
Key Highlights:
- Britt depends on her medicine to keep her Huntington’s in remission
- We haven’t seen Britt experience symptoms in a long time
- Cullum refused to give Britt her medicine unless she gave up his shooter
- A soap leaker claimed Britt would succumb to her illness
- Kelly Thiebaud said Britt is ready to die
- Does Britt have Huntington’s or not?
Cullum Tried to Blackmail Britt for the Name of His Shooter
Britt was working on her late father, Cesar Faison’s (Anders Hove), cold fusion project. Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) and Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) have been using her medicine as a bargaining chip to keep her tied to the project.
Britt depends on this medicine to keep her Huntington’s in remission. However, what if she was deceived into thinking she’s dying of this illness, when she doesn’t even have it?
The people who are involved in this secret project are evil. Cullum would kill a child in a heartbeat if it meant getting what he wants.
Sidwell at least has a heart, which we saw when his son, Marco Rios (Adrian Anchondo) was tragically murdered.
However, he’s still willing to kill as a means to an end, and if you prove of no use to him, heaven help you.
That said, we haven’t seen Britt experience many Huntington’s symptoms for a long time, not even so much as a hand tremor.
Cullum informed her that he wouldn’t give her any more medicine until she gave him the name of his shooter.
Of course, that shooter was Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr), and Britt would never want Cullum to know that. Except he does. So, Britt and Rocco have taken off for parts unknown.
Britt Left Town with Rocco Without Her Medicine
Britt doesn’t have her medicine with her and fully expects to die. On the other side of the coin, there are some rumors that Britt may actually succumb to her illness at some point.
A soap leaker recently claimed that Britt and Cassius Faison (Ryan Paevy) will be casualties of whatever happens with Cullum.
The ideal play for Britt would have been to tell Sidwell the truth that Cullum killed Marco, but instead, she contacted Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and told him that Sidwell killed Professor Henry Dalton (Daniel Goddard), which was weird.
Britt should have let Sidwell kill Cullum, as it would have made the world a much better place for everyone if he were gone.
Since Britt is without her medicine, we suspect she’ll either soon discover that she doesn’t really have Huntington’s or she’ll pass away from the illness.
Rocco persuaded Britt to let him leave town with her by telling her he wanted to spend whatever time she had left with her. Britt and Rocco’s bond has only gotten stronger since he pulled the trigger on Cullum.
Kelly Thiebaud Told SOD in Character, “It’s Better for Me to Just Go Away Because I’m the Problem Here.”
Actress Kelly Theiabud was interviewed by Soap Opera Digest and told the publication that Britt is ready to die. She’s accepted her fate and is resigned to pass away from this insidious illness.
Thiebaud said,
“I think at this point, she is just like, ‘You know what? This isn’t worth it anymore, I’m just going to die of Huntington’s.’ It’s not in a ‘woe is me’ type of way, I just think she’s feeling really helpless and really alone.”
The actress added,
“So it’s easy to feel like, ‘It’s better for me to just go away because I’m the problem here.’”
It would be tragic if Britt ended up dying from this. However, if fans on social media are correct, and Britt really doesn’t have Huntington’s, it would be the perfect twist.
Do you think that Britt is really dying, or is she in for a big shock when she finds out that she never had Huntington’s in the first place?
