Here’s Why Princess Anne Is The Anti-Zoom Royal

There is no way that Princess Anne is going to do a royal engagement over Zoom if she doesn’t have to. Queen Elizabeth’s one and only daughter got up in the morning and actually physically attended a commemoration service to help Anzac Day by honoring those who lost their life in service. Here’s what you need to know.

Princess Anne attended not one, but two services of commemoration to mark the Anzac Day of Commemoration and Thanksgiving. The Princess Royal’s husband – Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence – joined her, too.

Here’s Why Princess Anne Is The Anti-Zoom Royal

Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand to pay tribute to all those who lost their lives serving in the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps.

And while Princess Anne actually got out of bed and did her job, Prince William posted a rather strange video to mark Anzac Day. In the video, he signed two letters, put them in envelopes, and had a staffer deliver them to the Australian and New Zealand embarrasses in London, along with cookies.

Of course, it didn’t take very long for royal fans and critics to react over how different Princess Anne and Prince William approach their jobs. Some comments on social media included, “This why people love and RESPECT Princess Anne so much even all her bad points. She got up, got dressed and actually went out to attend the early-morning remembrance service. Princess Anne is not going to do a Zoom if there is any way she can make it in person,” along with, “Anne is sort of the epitome of what we have said about Will and Kate for years now – a good work ethic goes a long way. People forgive Anne for her faults because she works. If W&K just worked, solidly, repeatedly, reliably – I could forgive Kate’s love for all the buttons in the world.”

Another critic wrote, “It’s so WEIRD. Things they could have done to make it less weird – William reads the letter out loud in a voice over as the video shows it being delivered, there is some sort of music playing (maybe a national New Zealand or Australia song, I dunno), SOMETHING. a dead quiet video with William folding a letter and putting it in an envelope and then the envelope being walked through town…..that was just bad. What is their social media person thinking??”
