Mike’s had his good days and his bad days. ‘General Hospital’ spoilers indicate there were times he’s not even sure who Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) is. Once, Mike mistook him for someone he hates. But, the family has been great in handling Mike and talking him down. Things peaked with that Thanksgiving fit, but seemed to settle down for a little while. Sadly, the recent shootout in Brooklyn might have signaled a point of no return for him.

Sonny lost his chance at that appointment when he had to cancel due to the shooting. And it didn’t look like the odds were good at getting another appointment for Mike. Unfortunately, there’s also been a lot of other family drama getting in the way, too. Like the recent baby swap reveal and Nelle Benson’s (Chloe Lanier) bid for custody.
‘General Hospital’ spoilers indicate that shooting wasn’t only a missed opportunity for treatment, it was also a catalyst for the rapid progression of his disease. Last week, Mike didn’t even realize he’d hurt himself, and he’s not being very responsive in the hospital. From what Sonny was told, everything seems to be leading to one conclusion.

We may very well see the end of Mike this week. In the weekly preview, they devoted some of the time to Mike in a hospital bed, as Sonny tells Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) that he can’t handle this. While Carly is supportive, naturally, the whole feel of the scene gave bad vibes. There was a bit of a difference to the video quality as well. This all seems to point to a goodbye. It wouldn’t be surprising. Again, they’ve been slowly making the situation with Mike worse over time, letting it rapidly progress in the last week or two.
Even before Sonny tried to take Mike to that doctor, there was a lot of discussion as to whether Sonny was doing the right thing or not. And let’s consider this: Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burroughs) and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) both discussed patients they knew who are now gone. In Gladys’ case, she went on about how the person just refused to take food, much like Yvonne Godfrey (Janet Hubert).
If this is the case, expect the fight against Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) to get even more personal than before. Sonny will likely be enraged and devastated by the loss of his father. And what kept him from the treatment? And what has helped apparently speed the decline along? Look out, Cyrus. Sonny’s probably going to focus all those emotions on taking the one he’ll blame down.
