Well, at least this is some progress, right? While the ongoing pandemic that has been the coronavirus has managed to cancel life as we know it, it looks like concert organizers are doing their best to get things back to the way they were, but in a safe and healthy manner, of course.

While there won’t be an in-person Glastonbury Festival this year, there will be a virtual one and for one night only, too. On May 22, fans can watch acts like Coldplay, Damon Albarn, and HAIM from the comfort of their couch. Here’s what you need to know.

Glastonbury Festival Is Coming Back – But Just For One Night Only

Glastonbury has been forced to cancel its annual event for the second year in a row because of Covid-19 but there is some good news. Worthy Farm will now host a five-hour livestream featuring some of the biggest names in music.

Filmed across the festival site at landmarks including the Pyramid Field and the Stone Circle, the event’s line up includes Coldplay, Damon Albarn, HAIM, IDLES, Jorja Smith, Kano, Michael Kiwanuka and Wolf Alice.

There will also be spoken word narrative, written and delivered by some very special guests, guiding Festival-goers on what is a described as “a journey through the sacred valley in Somerset.” If that weren’t enough, there will also be some surprise performance as well.

“After two Glastonbury cancellations, it brings us great pleasure to announce our first online livestream,” said co-organizer Emily Eavisin a statement.

“It will feature a rolling cast of artists and performers who have all given us enormous support by agreeing to take part in this event, showing the farm as you have never seen it. There will also be some very special guest appearances and collaborations. We are hoping this will bring a bit of Glastonbury to your homes and that for one night only people all over the world will be able to join us on this journey through the farm together!”

The event will support Glastonbury‘s three main charitable partners, Oxfam, Greenpeace and WaterAid, as well as helping to secure the festival’s return in 2022.
