She wrote on Twitter, “Thank you @valentinifrank, Dominick Nuzzi, @Disney & @ABCTV for following the science and taking ALL possible measures to ensure the safety of the entire @GeneralHospital cast and crew.
Very grateful to be working with all of you. Today is a good day for #GH.” And now that Ingo is gone, does this mean Steve is out the door, too?
Of course, it didn’t take long at all for both ‘General Hospital’ fans and critics alike to weigh in on the matter. Many of them commented with, “Steve Burton does just fine in the role of Jason Morgan, but we’ve already seen Billy Miller in that role and I’m sure Cameron Mathison could play it as well. It’s not like his role is so unique that nobody else can take it,” along with, “Burton & Ingo have every right to not get vaccinated. Disney/ABC has every right to protect its workers. When your choices infringe upon the health and safety of others, then your employer has every right to fire you. Freedom swings both ways.”
Another critic wrote, “If there is a mandate that is powerful enough, Steve Burton would have been cut already and an announcement made. I dont think ABC will risk losing Steve Burton for dying GH. Nancy Granhn can praise the MANDATE all she wants but if it ain’t enforced as shown with Steve still working then why does it matter.”
So far neither the producers of ‘General Hospital’ nor Steve Burton have made any comments about the matter.
