Recently on an appearance on CBS this morning, Clooney finally explained how his hair gets it’s unique “Clooney” look. Apparently, he does all his own haircuts, which, is kind of surprising considering he’s a Hollywood A-Lister.
Since the days of ER, I have wondered just what celebrity stylist had the bright idea to cut his hair in such a way and was going to steer clear of that stylist if I ever had the fortune of being in Hollywood. However, now we know the truth, it was his own idea all along, but the tools of the trade is what made our jaws drop.
He uses a flowbee.
That’s right, that vaccuum hair-cutting system that was briefly made famous in the 80’s and 90’s? The one that Seveteen Magazine rated one of the scariest hair removal tools of all time? Yeah, that thing.
And in case you didn’t know, a Flowbee is also used as a dog-grooming tool, for those people who want to groom the breeds that shed heavily. I would say pet grooming tool, but I am pretty sure all but the most docile (or sedated) of cats would commit murder upon being subjected to the horror that is a Flowbee.
In fact for the longest time I wasn’t even sure that Flowbees could be used on human beings! But now, we’ve come away from this interview with a considerable amount of education.
“My hair is like straw, which makes it pretty easy to cut. There’s not much room to make mistakes.” So, George Clooney is telling us with 100% confidence, that that haircut he has is a choice. No mistakes, not a bad hair day, not a style inflicted upon him by some experimental celebrity stylist that he just decided to keep.
Nope, this was all his doing, every bit of it, from his ER days forward, that is how you get The Clooney, folks. All you have to do is use a flowbee, and hope for the best. Maybe he should do a youtube video tutorial on how he accomplishes that look with the flowbee, it’d be interesting, that’s for sure. As for it being difficult to make mistakes, well, whatever keeps you warm at night, cowboy. Stay tuned!!!
