General Hospital (GH) spoilers star Annie Wersching, best known for playing Amelia Joffe, has sadly passed away at the age of 45 after having previously been diagnosed with cancer.

It is fair to say that Annie has had an illustrious career. Her list of acting credentials include The Vampire Diaries, Extant, Bosch and even Star Trek: Picard to name a few. But it was her role in General Hospital that fans will remember her for.
She certainly made her name on the show with a daring storyline to say the least. Her portrayal of Amelia, a producer who wanted to gain revenge on Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) who had killed her father did create a buzz with the fan base. In the end, it was discovered that Sam had acted in self-defence by eliminating Amelia’s cruel father.
And after having produced so many memories on the show, there has been an outpouring of emotion in response. In an official statement by her husband, Stephen Full, he said: “There is a cavernous hole in the soul of this family today.
“But she left us the tools to fill it. She found wonder in the simplest moment. She didn’t require music to dance. She taught us not to wait for adventure to find you. ‘Go find it. It’s everywhere.’ And find it we shall.”
In addition, the news has had another impact in that Annie leaves behind her three children, whose world has been rocked: Freddie, 12; Ozzie, and Archie, 4. With that being said, the fans on social media came out in droves in order to pay their condolences.
And in the process of doing so, the comments were very emotive. One person wrote: “This is awful and shocking. I’m truly glad she had such a fantastic last Trek outing. She was INCREDIBLE and everything.”
