‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Outpouring of love and support
As of this writing, #RIPJackie was trending on Twitter as fans and fellow actors shared their shock and love for an amazing actress that appeared as Bobbie Spencer on “General Hospital” for 800 episodes.
The show released a statement as well:
“Jacklyn Zeman has been a beloved member of the ‘General Hospital’ and ABC family since she originated the iconic role of Bobbie Spencer over 45 years ago. She leaves behind a lasting legacy for her Emmy-nominated portrayal of the bad girl turned heroine and will always be remembered for her kind heart and radiant spirit. We are devastated by the news of her passing, and send our deepest condolences to Jackie’s family, friends and loved ones.”
While it’s tragic that another person has left us, it’s important to look back and remember all of the memories she left us with.
She joined the “General Hospital” cast in 1977 and has remained in the role for over 45 years.
She originally studied ballet as a child and even studied dance at New York University, but she found her calling as an actress and she first appeared in “The Edge of Night” in 1976, and then appeared on “One Life to Live” for 40 episodes in a major storyline that same year.
Her character Bobbie was a fun firebrand as she was never shy about sharing her thoughts, and considering her on air siblings of Pat Spencer (Dee Wallace) and Luke Spencer Sr. (Anthony Geary), she was in good company.
Thank you for all of the memories, Jackie. Our hearts and prayers go out to her friends and family during this time. She will be missed.
