‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers are excited that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) SEC secret is about to hit the fan. It is unfortunate that Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is about to hear the truth from Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer).
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Sonny Will Go to Michael First
Sonny will soon know that not only was Nina the whistleblower. He will learn that his son, Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), has been blackmailing her ever since he found out what she did.
The betrayal will certainly sting as Sonny figures out why Nina tried to give Carly Spencer‘s (Laura Wright) half of the Metro Court back to her and why she acted so strangely.
Sonny may go to Michael first before he goes to Nina. He will want to confirm what Lois told him. Sonny will be livid with Nina. However, he will not say a word until he confronts Michael with what he knows.
Michael will likely tell Sonny everything, and he will also tell him why he blackmailed Nina. Michael didn’t want Nina to have access to Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen), Wiley Corinthos (Viron Weaver), and Amelia Corinthos (Owen and Nathan Ford) without going through him.
Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) pretending to be the priest in the confessional with Nina was likely a clever ruse to throw viewers off and make them think that Cyrus would be the one to spill the beans.
It was a fun New Year’s Eve twist that Cyrus tried to convince Nina to come clean to Sonny while he was at the Savoy getting an earful from Lois.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Micheal Convinces Sonny to Keep Quiet
Sonny will hear Michael out (he is his son, after all). Michael will explain his desire to protect his wife from discovering the truth about her mother.
At the same time, he also wanted to shield Willow from having any contact with Nina that he didn’t explicitly approve of.
That being said, Michael should have handled the situation a lot better. He could have come to Sonny with this, as he had the right to know.
Michael may succeed in coercing Sonny to keep this secret from Willow. Sonny will empathize with Nina’s desire to have a relationship with her daughter, regardless of her betrayal.
Another issue factoring into Sonny’s decision to keep quiet is that Carly will soon be dealing with the tragic loss of her mother, Bobbie Spencer (Jackie Zeman).
Sonny may decide he doesn’t want Carly to shoulder this burden. He may even confront Nina but not say a word to anyone else about it.
He may even help her cover up her deception, similar to what Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero) did with Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth).
Sonny and Nina’s marriage will be tested, as he must choose whether to forgive her or cut his losses. Nina will try to explain to Sonny that she was enraged because of Willow’s bond with Carly, but it will be too late.
New Year’s Eve promises to be an exciting night for the residents of Port Charles, especially Sonny and Nina.
