Neither wants to complicate their bond or risk hurting the other if they explore a romantic relationship.
However, it may be a situation in which Carly and Jason “thou doth protest too much.” Carly has yet to find out that Jason sacrificed his life in Port Charles for over two years. He is trying to protect her from being arrested for RICO charges. He would do anything to keep Carly and her children safe.
Jason didn’t see his kids or family this whole time, as he worked as an informant for the FBI. Thanks to John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington), Jason was trapped in a life he never wanted.
When Carly and Jason saw each other for the first time after years of being apart, it was like a dream come true for both of them. Carly almost couldn’t believe he was there with her.
Carly still doesn’t know the lengths Jason went to or why exactly he decided to play ball with the FBI. The two of them have the kind of relationship that doesn’t require an explanation.
She accepts that Jason chose to do this for reasons she doesn’t know. Therefore, he doesn’t need to tell her why because she trusts him more than anyone else in her life.
Carly knows in her heart that if he could have been there, he would have and that Jason would have called if he could.

Spoilers suggest that Carly will soon discover why Jason works for the FBI. Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) has roped Damian Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) into digging to find out what the FBI has on him. Sam immediately knew that Jason wouldn’t willingly work for this organization.
Sam and Spinelli could learn the truth, or Carly could overhear a conversation between Jagger and Jason, revealing the deal they made about Carly.
When Carly finds out, will her feelings of gratitude lead to her and Jason getting intimate? They were married in September 2021, and they almost slept together in the bed she shared with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).
The minute Sonny came home, Carly and Jason’s break up didn’t need to be spoken of in words. Jason, who would give his life for Carly, simply slid his wedding ring off his finger. Shellshocked, Carly heard about where Sonny had been for so long.
Carly and Jason came close to consummating their marriage as they decided they would have a real marriage. Could those feelings resurface?
