‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers find that Rena Sofer and Lois Cerullo are a breath of fresh air to the show, bringing a much-needed, very much welcome change of pace.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Lois and Olivia Are Believable as BFFs
The recent scenes between Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer) and BFF Olivia Quartermaine (Lisa LiCisero) were fun, lighthearted, and spirited.
They have incredible same-sex chemistry with each other and have generally spiced things up in the Quartermaine mansion.
Lois and Olivia are totally believable as childhood friends. The character’s stories about being in Catholic school together are always lively.
The Christmas decorating scenes were classic. Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) arriving home only to find that Lois and Olivia had decorated the place was a hoot. Not on Tracy’s watch. Bah humbug!
Lois also has a beautiful mother/daughter vibe with Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton). The two of them are both lovely, intelligent, sassy little ladies who can duke it out with the best of them. Like mother, like daughter. They seem to share a palpable and believable bond.
Lois’s mother and Brook Lynn’s grandmother, Gloria Cerullo (Ellen Travolta), provoking the Russian mafia was hysterical. Lois and Brook Lynn teaming up to rescue Gloria from her unfortunate predicament was gold.
Brook Lynn was masterful as she told the man she was looking for a talented trombone player. The look on Lois’s face was one of shock and pride simultaneously.
We were also treated to scenes between Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Lois sharing tales from Bensonhurst over a couple of plates of pasta. These two, also childhood friends, were also delightful to watch. It’s too bad there is no Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil).
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Lois’s Return is Pure Gold
Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) and Lois also have a special relationship, which is evident, not because they were married in real life but because they are both phenomenal actors. They have a natural ease about them.
It was lovely to see Lois helping Ned regain his memory and reuniting Ned and Olivia. All she had to tell him to do was to take the leap!
Lois’s return to Port Charles and the Quartermaine family has made the show much more entertaining. We could never forget this Brooklyn-born babe and her fearless and feisty attitude.
It seems like with Lois, the show figured out just what viewers needed. While the friendships, family, and her daughter love having Lois, Tracy could do without. The rivalry between them is fantastic to watch.
The two ladies have much in common regarding fighting for what they want. They go about it in two totally different ways.
Not to mention, Lois’s on-point remarks and witty comebacks are formidable against the Quartermaine family’s grumpiest member.
It would be fun to see Lois interact with more people in Port Charles and mix it up. Maybe to reunite the old GH family, Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring) or Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom).
And maybe some scenes with more people in the family she connected to, like Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson). Rena Sofer would shine in any scene.
We can’t wait to learn what the writers have for this fascinating character next!
