‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal that Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) and Ava Jerome (Maura West) deserve another shot in their dark, twisted love story.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The Show Missed an Opportunity for a Nikolas and Ava Reunion
Recently, Ava and Nikolas came together to try to plot against Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl). However, that plot abruptly stopped when Nikolas left town with his and Esme’s baby, Ace Prince-Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay).
The show missed the perfect opportunity to team this strangely enticing pair up. Together, they could have figured out a more appropriate way to punish Esme that didn’t involve stealing her child.
They could have hatched a plot to take her down. And it looked like they were going to do just that. But sadly, the show went in another direction.
It looks like the party Ava was supposed to have and invite Esme to isn’t happening. I guess the powers that be thought it was a good idea for Nikolas to take Ace to parts unknown instead.
The show may have sacrificed Ava and Nikolas’s reunion for a story about Esme regaining her memories and returning to her old evil self.
When Ava first saw Nikolas again, she was so sure that he was sending her photos of a dead Austin Gatlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) and even a gun.
Why didn’t the show address any of this, and why haven’t we ever found out who killed Austin? The big “murder mystery” was a bust beyond comprehension.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: An Intriguing and Dysfunctional Duo
It would have been interesting if Nikolas and Ava worked together to figure out who sent her that gruesome photograph of Austin’s dead body.
That being said, we were treated to a few stellar scenes between the former couple. Ava and Nikolas got to have a deep conversation about why their marriage didn’t work out.
Nikolas did get a teenage Esme pregnant. He’s always had problems being faithful to one woman. He even stepped out on his once true love, Emily Quartermaine (Natalia Livingston). But that’s another story for another time.
Ava knocked Nikolas over the head with a statue and left him for dead. And then dragged his lifeless body to the Cassadine stables, but he survived, didn’t he?
Ava believed Nikolas’s infidelity was the spoiler in their marriage. Nikolas begged to differ. According to him, it was the dastardly Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) and Esme plotting to break them up.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Ava and Nikolas Are a Hot Commodity
Nikolas and Ava are deliciously sinful together. They share a history, know how to push each other’s buttons, and know that the other isn’t perfect. In fact, they both can be downright malicious when they want to be.
It would be a shame to waste West and Huss’s chemistry. Truth be told, Maura West would have chemistry with a stalk of celery; She’s that good. Adam Huss is also starting to come into his own as the Dark Prince, Nikolas.
The two actors working together again as an on-screen couple would be gold. Nikolas should return to town with Ace in tow and rebuild his relationship with Ava. We can only hope that the new writers decide to rectify this as soon as possible.
