‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal that Shiloh Archer (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) is now dead. Just recently, the DoD leader recently escaped custody took some hostages. This wasn’t good for a character who was trying to keep his checkered past on the down low. Here’s what you need to know.
‘General Hospital’ spoilers: The plan
Initially, it looked like Peter August (Wes Ramsey) had ordered Shiloh killed by a goon. He was even talking like it. But then we fond out that Shiloh was a somewhat free man, dressed like the guard. This made it look like Peter really kept his word and helped Shiloh escape. We, of course, learn that wasn’t the case in the Monday, September 23rd episode.
‘General Hospital’ spoilers: Not trustworthy
We figured that Peter August wouldn’t help Shiloh escape for one good reason: Shiloh is a con. He doesn’t have much loyalty in him, as he’s proved time and again. He’ll do whatever he needs to do to look out for #1. If he was caught, Peter couldn’t possibly be stupid enough to believe Shiloh won’t sell him out. This is why we were confused about the implication last Friday that he kept his word. Peter has not been shy about taking out anyone who is a threat to his secret past.
‘General Hospital’ spoilers: Bad plan
Of course, this is all moot at this point, because we know Peter meant to kill him. He just went about it in the dumbest way possible. If an officer happened to get caught up in this kill plan (which he did), that would bad news for Peter. They won’t rest until they get full answers, and Peter will be vulnerable to exposure. Especially if his helper is found dead as well, or they discover a fake guard in the video footage.
Peter, on the other hand, has already aroused the suspicions of Jason, who hired Spinelli (Bradford Anderson) to look into the connection with Peter. He’s also visited Shiloh quite a few times, so there’s a trail connecting them already.
A better option would’ve been for him to arrange an “accident” in Pentonville. It’s sometimes a very dangerous world on the inside, and people get killed in fights all the time. It seems that would have been the easier option for him in dealing with his pesky blackmailer.
‘General Hospital’ spoilers: Looking ahead – Is Shiloh Really Dead, Or Did He Fake His Own Death?
As for Shiloh, after he had put Bobbie in danger after she passed out in the road due to her diabetes, and after taking hostage Wiley alongside Dev Cerci (Ashton Arbab) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), he was never leaving Port Charles alive. He had gone too far, one too many times.
And so there he is, dead after Sam shot a flare gun in his back that send overboard on the Haunted Star. But is Shiloh really dead? The world of soaps is one where villains don’t tend to stay for very long, so it’s very possibly that something fishy is in the works. After all, Shiloh’s death was a little too easy peasy, a little too simple even, and anti-climatic. After so much build up as the premiere bad guy in Port Charles, he goes out on a whimper in the most meaningless of ways. If we had to judge at face value, there is definitely something cooking behind the scenes that is about to be unveiled.
Of course, there’s also the possibility that Shiloh is indeed truly dead and that his “end” story was somewhat rushed due to other arches brewing, or perhaps due to fanbase reaction to Shiloh’s story – people are definitely not fond of the Shyster these days. One thing we know for certain, is that Coby Ryan McLaughlin is definitely out at General Hospital, so if Shiloh makes a return it will be very soon seeing as his exit was confirmed earlier this week by Daily Soap Dish and General Hospital works on about a 6 week delay from shoot to screen.
