‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers reveal that blackmail is a dangerous game. Just because a person has power over someone else, does not mean that they are safe. Threatening someone can lead to a nasty result.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Doctor for Thugs
GH’s Doctor Austin Gaitlin-Holt (Roger Howarth) is Mason Gatlin’s (Nathanyael Grey) cousin. Having someone in the family who is a doctor, can be quite beneficial. When Gordon Stevens (Maurice Hall) was hurt in the course of his work for Mason, he was bought to ‘General Hospital’. Austin patched him up, off the record.
Apparently, Mason has not been willing to keep his agreements with those who work for him. Gordon was not paid for all of his services. Since he wasn’t getting satisfaction from Mason, he decided to confront Austin.
A doctor is wealthy and well-connected, and Gordon thought that might be a way for him to get satisfaction.
Gordon interrupted Austin to discuss this business while he was on a double date. He was out with Ava Jerome (Maura West) and another couple, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros). An upset Gordon interrupts and Austin agrees to talk to him out back.
Gordon demands his money and threatens violence. As he says that he will break Austin’s arm, Sonny interrupts. He says that if Gordon breaks Austin’s arm, Sonny will break him. Gordon backs off.
Gordon apologizes and backs off. This encounter makes Sonny quite skeptical of Austin and believes he is up to no good with his cousin Mason.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Getting Greedy
Austin is called to his office by his cousin Mason, and when he arrives, Gordon is there. He knows that Sonny must be growing more suspicious of Austin and Ava.
They have been tasked with digging up dirt on Sonny for Mason. Gordon threatens Mason and Austin. He says that need to pay him $100,000 or he will tell Sonny everything that they have been up to.
Blackmail is risky, particularly when one is dealing with crooks. Mason promises Gordon that he will get everything he is owed. He is to meet his associate at the main entrance. Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) has been working for Sonny, keeping an eye on what Austin is up to.
He sees Gordon leave the hospital. After being side-tracked for a bit by a nurse, he heads out and finds a body. Someone killed Gordon.
It is pretty clear that Mason had Gordon wiped out. But Sonny also threatened Gordon in Austin’s presence. Is any of this going to come back and bite him? Will Austin try to use that against Sonny, even though Mason was to blame?
