‘General Hospital’ (GH) spoilers: There are two camps for GH fans: Team Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) or Team anti-Nina. The two groups are vocal and passionate about either their support for Nina or their perpetual anger toward the character.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: The Reveal Was Worth the Wait
Many GH fans waited with bated breath for the reveal. Nina was the one who ratted out Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) to the SEC.
Nina tried to go to Sonny Corinthos‘s (Maurice Benard) penthouse to try to talk things out, and he slammed the door in her face, which is classic Sonny Corinthos.
Sonny is not one to easily forgive lies and betrayals. He may never come around since Nina was responsible for hurting his family.
Nina fans may be disappointed if they think it will be that easy. Years ago, when Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil) wore a wire to gain information about Sonny’s business, he lashed out at her in a furious rage.
There was so much rage that some viewers were even afraid he would become violent with Brenda as Sonny kicked her out of his life. It was a highly emotional, very skillfully acted scene in which both actors shined.
Sonny threw Brenda out of his life, and things were never the same between them. They tried to get back together, but the sting of her betrayal was always looming over them like a giant storm cloud.
The former couple were still very much in love with each other, but in the end, it wasn’t enough for Sonny to truly forgive her.
Fast forward to now, and if you were an avid GH fan in 1994, chances are that you can see parallels in Sonny’s relationship with Nina. She also betrayed him, and it looks like they are headed for a divorce.
‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Nina and Brenda Both Betrayed Sonny
Nina, like Brenda, will fight it and try to get Sonny to see that she is the one for him. Betrayal and lies make Sonny mean and nasty, and he tends to treat women who betray him like they aren’t worth the spit in his mouth.
It’s very dangerous to cross Sonny Corinthos, and if someone tries, even one of his lady loves, he treats them like an enemy of his business.
We feel Sonny and Nina may be headed for Splitsville, whether Nina likes it or not. Even Nina’s portrayer, Cynthia Watros, admitted to Soap Opera Digest,
“There’s no going back to Sonny right now. He’s so angry. I don’t think she feels that all hope is lost, but she doesn’t quite know how to go forward or if there is a path to getting the relationship back. It’s really all in Sonny’s hands. It’s up to him.”
Sonny and Nina may get back together. However, like his relationship with Brenda, he will never truly be able to forgive her.
Nina crossed the line with Sonny when she went after the mother of Sonny’s children. That may be even worse for Sonny than what Brenda did because the betrayal involved his family.
Should Sonny forgive her, he may never fully trust her again. Sonny and Nina may be over for good.
